Enjoy the art of reading by signing up for the Summer Reading Program for Adults

REGISTRATION: Now open and runs through August 27.

REGISTER at the Information Desk, call us at 845-563-3613 or 563-3600 or click here for our online form. Stop by the Information Desk to pick up a registration packet. ALREADY REGISTERED? Click here to write a review. Open to adults age 18 and older.

READ as many books as you like or listen to audio books. They can be fiction or non-fiction. You choose!

REVIEW & RATE the book or audio book by filling out a short review card. Drop it in the box at the Information Desk. You can also go online to write a review. With your permission, we'll post your reviews online or add them to our Master the Art of Reading book display on the main level. For reviews by other readers, click here.

ENTER TO WIN. All reviews will count as entries in prize drawings to be held every two weeks. Enter as many times as you'd like! You must be registered to take part in the prize drawings. You need not be present to win. The grand prize will be awarded on Thurs., August 27, 2009.

Art Workshops 

Thurs., July 30 at 7 p.m. Create a Collage - Use scraps of paper and fabric to make your own unique collage art work. .

Thurs., August 13 at 7 p.m. Make a Book - Make a small book with a decorative cover.

Workshops are free and open to adults. Register at newburghlibrary.org or call 563-3619.

Wrap-Up Party and Prizes

The biweekly prize drawings will be held on July 17 and 31 and August 14. The grand prize is a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble, courtesy of the Friends of the Newburgh Free Library. The prize will be announced at the Wrap-up Party to be held in the lobby of the Newburgh Free Library on Thurs., August 27 from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. You need not be present to win. Be sure to read as much as you can and enter your reviews to help increase your chances of winning.
