Access my account
“My Account” is part of Newburgh Free Library’s online catalog. You will see a link on both our home page and on all pages of the catalog. You can use “My Account” to manage physical items that you’ve borrowed and to borrow digital materials using Overdrive. The login method is the same for both.
HOW DO I LOG IN?
The login screen asks for a user name and password.
- Your username is your library barcode number, found on the back of your library card
- Your password is the last 4 digits of your telephone number.
Remember that if your telephone number changes we will need to update your record.
MANAGING YOUR LIBRARY RECORD AND PHYSICAL ITEMS BORROWED
After logging in to your account, you will see a summary of the number of items you have out, the number of items that you have requested, the number of items that are ready for you to pick up and other information. Clicking on any of these selections, or on the corresponding tab near the top of the screen, will give you specific title information in each case and will also tell you when an item is due or the deadline for picking up an item.
Confidentiality policies prevent us from giving you any title or other personal information over the telephone, so My Account is a convenient way to check.
BORROWING DIGITAL MATERIALS
Newburgh Free Library uses Overdrive software to provide you with eBooks and eAudio. Although these material are listed in our regular library catalog, a link in the record will take you to the Overdrive catalog where you can browse, checkout and download. Both checkout and download will require you to login as above; the information you see will only be about the digital materials you’ve requested or borrowed.
