Educators

The library has many services and resources available to help your students achieve their education goals.

Tours & Class Group Visits

The Youth Services Department is happy to help you and your students become familiar with the library and resources available through the library. We can accommodate all ages of children with a tour and orientation from preschool and nursery school visits introducing the library and how to take care of books to high school classes in need of instruction on how to research a specific topic.

For Educators

Contact the Youth Services Staff to schedule a group tour or visit. We can provide a general tour of the library and instruction on searching the library’s catalog and online databases or customize a visit to fit your student’s research needs. If you plan to have students check out materials at the time of their visit, we strongly recommend you instruct the students to contact Circulation in advance to be sure their library cards are current, and they are eligible to use for borrowing materials.

For Youth Group Leaders

Contact the Youth Services Staff to inquire about a group program and tour of the library. We can usually customize a visit to meet your needs that is appropriate for the age and size of your group.

Groups who do not need the guidance and direct services of library staff do not need to schedule a visit. However, keep in mind that large groups may not be able to be accommodated due to space and seating limitations at the library.
