Helping students reach their academic potential is one of the many ways the Newburgh Free Library supports life-long learning in the community. Whether a student needs help to complete a homework assignment, is beginning to research a topic or is just curious about the world around them, we’re here to help!
The Library offers a drop-in Homework Help program for students in grades 1-6. For more information, please see Homework Help.
Students who are eligible for a Newburgh Free Library Card or who have a Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS) Card can also access the library’s catalog and many of our electronic resources from home or school—anyplace with an internet connection—using their library card number and PIN (by default, the last 4 digits of their phone number.)
Once logged in, students can search the RCLS catalog and reserve and request items from our library, or any other member library. When the items arrive at the Newburgh Free Library, students will be notified to come in to pick up their material within 5 days.
Students can also gain access to the Library’s subscription database resources including many full text periodicals, encyclopedias, newsletters, pamphlets and publications. Once students are logged in, they can read, print or email items of interest for their research.
